10 Coins Puzzle
Problem:
You are blindfolded and 10 coins are place in
front of you on table. You are allowed to touch the coins, but can’t
tell which way up they are by feel. You are told that there are 5 coins
head up, and 5 coins tails up but not which ones are which. How do you
make two piles of coins each with the same number of heads up? You can
flip the coins any number of times.
Before looking at the answer We Strongly advised you to think about the solution and take out the answer and then match your answer with ours.
Answer:
Select one of the pile of coins and flip it once
as
eg:
Case 1:
Pile 1: HHHTT
Pile 2: TTTHH
Select any pile .Let us select first pile i.e HHHTT and flip the coins
After flipping Pile i is: TTTHH i.e equal number of heads up in both the piles.
Case 2:
Pile 1: HHHHH
Pile 2: TTTTT
Select any pile .Let us select now second pile i.e TTTTT and flip the coins
After flipping Pile i is: HHHHH i.e equal number of heads up in both the piles.
